The Point Walter Jetty is on the eastern side of the Swan River. It is a great halfway point between the city of Perth and Fremantle on the eastern shore. The vast lawned areas make if very popular location for families taking picnics or having long walks. It is also a great swimming spot. Yet, for the Perth charter boat world, it is a protected public jetty spot to pick up and offload guests.
Point Walter has free parking, but there are very few spots at the foot of the hill. For that reason, guests are advised to offload their gear and equipment at the bottom of the hill, before parking further up the road.
Directions to the Point Walter Jetty on the Swan River
Travelling down Canning Highway from the city you need to take a right on Point Walter Road which is just after the McDonalds as you come down the hill. Stay on here until you cross over Preston Point Road and past the golf course. Keep to your left. The road becomes Honour Avenue and will take you down to the water and the jetty. Parking is limited at the bottom but if you backtrack 100 metres up the hill you can find more parking there.
