ABROLHOS ISLANDS HISTORY
The islands are also steeped in history around the wreck of the Dutch ship Batavia and the murderous times that followed. Provided the weather is suitable, you would have the opportunity to dive on the still very visible wreck site of the Batavia with cannons and anchors still strewn around the seabed. As well as the opportunity to visit the oldest European building in Australia Webbi Hayes’s coral slab fort. Along with the opportunity to visit the colourful weather beaten shacks of the local cray fishing community, there is a certain charm about this place and its people.
Big Island Charters offers a boat cruise for almost everyone, ranging from family holiday packages, to action-packed fishing and diving charters.
